Luzerne shire Commissioner Greg Skrepenak said medicines are the region's No. 1 question but the area is at a disadvantage in fighting them because there is no central place to garner and dispense the latest research in succession treatment, prevention and usage.
That might change quickly he said, because the shire is studying the feasibility of creating a remedy and alcohol institute at Luzerne shire Community College. A vote onward conducting a $5,000 study is slated for nearest week's commissioner meeting.
The idea came up during Skrepenak's discussions with peer community college trustee Mahmoud Fahmy and the college's Workforce and Community disclosure Vice President Peter Balsamo.
