The Penn State National Invitational, a two-day gala of athletic superiority opens today as both Penn State's men's and women's programs welcome a field of competators -- the one and the other collegiate and unattached -- that includes All-Americans, NCAA champions, world leaders and Olympians.
The top-rung plain of competition provides the Penn State teams with a chance to experiment themselves against the quality of challengers they'll face later in the season when vying for colloquy championships and national qualifying marks.
