SPRING MILLS -- Buckling subordinate to fiscal pressure, the Penns Valley Area institute board is moving to consolidate its elementary educates -- and idle one of the facilities -- in the reliances of avoiding a large characteristic tax increase.

At a public hearing Thursday, residents will have a chance to healthy off on the plan to finish Gregg Township-Spring Mills Elementary academy for the 2006-07 school year.

More than 80 residents deflected out at the school board's Feb 15 meeting, and many spoke abroad about the plan.

Residents oppos to the closing argued that putting more learners in fewer facilities would decrease the quality of education and take away a valuable part of the Gregg Township community. however others, while not wanting to end the school, said they couldn't handle another big tax increase.
