With its land-development plan for a recreation center nearing approval, a State guild church is seeking community donations to expand and build four instead of couple indoor basketball courts to appeal to the sports tournament industry.

Christ Community Church's pursuit for community support comes at the same time that a thought commissioned by the Central Pennsylvania Convention & Visitors Bureau conclud that the area doesn't have enough sports venue to accommodate local youth or to enlarge the regional tournament economy.

"The community has for likewise long depended on Penn State facilities and that's been unfortunate because what we haven't done then is built our allow facilities," said Betsey Howell, visitors bureau executive director. "Penn State can solitary do so much -- they have obligations to their scholars and their own activities."
