UNIVERSITY PARK -- State college edifice [i]or[/i] building Borough Council honored a army of local volunteers Wednesday night at an annual community dinner.

The ABC Appreciation Dinner, held at the Nittany Lion Inn, drew dozens of visitants for a three-course meal in succession the borough dime. The adventure is meant to recognize residents who offer their time to staff the borough's authorities, boards and commissions.

Council members quick in emergenciesed several people and organizations with the borough's yearly awards:

u Sign maker Graham Curtis received The Ingrid, an award that recognizes eminence in design and community spirit. It is named for Ingrid P Holtzman, who serv upon the Design Review Board and onward Borough Council.

Curtis designed the relatively fresh borough signs that welcome motorists in several places, including East society Avenue and South Atherton
