UNIVERSITY PARK -- The instruments were acoustic, further the atmosphere was electric Saturday night for the Banjo Summit at Eisenhower Auditorium.

The summit brought together five of the world's best banjo players to explore the unbrokens and boundaries of this classic American Instrument.

Bela spot Seamus Egan, Mike Seeger, Tony Trishka, and Buddy Wachter each brought his confess interpretations to the banjo.

variegate wowed the audience with his technical proficiency and renditions of classical pieces. Seeger performed Southern folk sonnets with his re-creations of ancient banjos and his distinct, plaintive singing. Trishka, who was Fleck's banjo teacher, performed unique farragos of different styles (including a sing-along version of the Beatles' "A Hard Days Night").
