Bellefonte's past waits to be revealed.

A time capsule created 50 years ago for the borough's sesquicentennial celebration now sits beneath lock and key in the borough office. Meanwhile, town officials plan to explain the capsule during a public solemnity in August.

"I've had a haphazard of calls from people who were in the (sesquicentennial) parade or who were involved with the (sesquicentennial) committee," Borough Manager Ralph Stewart said.

For years, the capsule's location remained a mystery as residents searched for it. Then, it anguish up in the garage of borough councilwoman Vana Dainty. Dainty, who this year has coordinated conclusions commemorating the 200th anniversary of the borough's incorporation, infered the capsule from the shire after it told her it had the relic in storage.

The capsule, according to a 1956 newspaper article, was to be delivered this year to the "chairman of the Bicentennial
