The eclectic mix of Rhett Parrott, Tyler Norrick, Lance Marcum and Jason Motte allowed seven hits and combined to record 12 strikeouts as the Spikes defeated the Williamsport Crosscutter 5-2 Wednesday at Bowman Field.

"It's nice to prepare the first win of any season," manager Mark DeJohn said. "You don't want to travel too far without getting the win. In our situation, of course, it's symbolic."
